How Rudy works

You set the rules once. Rudy is built to do the rest: find the load, call the broker, ask you when it matters and brief your driver.

Step 1

You set the rules once

Your rate floor, your lanes, your driver’s home time and the most Rudy may book without asking. Rudy is built to never go under them.

Rate floor
$2.40 / mi
Lanes

The Dispatch rules screen on an iPhone: minimum $2.40 a mile, pickup within 50 miles, Luis home by Friday, ask me above $2,000

Step 2

Rudy finds the load

Across the load boards, Rudy checks every posting against your truck and your rules, and skips the ones that do not fit, with the reason.

Load

Step 3

Rudy calls the broker

Rudy calls, pitches your truck and works the rate. In the film the broker posts $1,950, Rudy asks $2,250 and they agree on $2,225.

Step 4

Over your limit, Rudy asks first

The load is over your $2,000 limit, so Rudy asks before it books. You tap Book. One tap, at 2:14 AM, and back to sleep.

Step 5

Your driver gets everything

Luis wakes up to the pickup number, the times, the dock notes and the rate con. Nobody had to call anybody.

Jess · brokerPellwick Transport, this is Jess.

RudyHey Jess, it's Rudy with Brackwater Trucking. Your Dallas to Louisville dry van for tomorrow, is that still open?

Jess · brokerYeah, still open. Posted at nineteen-fifty, all in.

RudyI've got a truck empty right there in Dallas. I'd need twenty-two fifty to make it work.

Jess · brokerHmm... can you do twenty-two twenty-five?

RudyTwenty-two twenty-five works. Let me confirm with my owner, and I'll send the truck info in a few minutes.

Jess · brokerOkay. You're good. Rate con's on the way.

RudyI know.
